Idaho’s most expensive home is far from your typical lake lodge. It’s a modern masterpiece now available for $30 million.

“It’s a style of home you wouldn’t expect to find in North Idaho. It’s just incredibly well-built and very stylishly and uniquely designed,” says listing agent Greg Rowley, with Coldwell Banker. “We see a lot more lodge style or rustic architecture in the area, so this one is definitely unique.”

The sellers modeled the 7,766-square-foot mansion in Coeur d’Alene on another home they own in Naples, FL.

“Architect Eric Hedlund did an incredible job of blending modern architecture with the terrain. While it’s architecturally very modern, the use of materials really blends into the surroundings nicely,” Rowley says.

“Above all else, the setting is what really makes this house special. It overlooks a championship golf course on one side and has 180-degree views of the lake that you look at from almost every room throughout the home,” Rowley says.

Built in 2010, the single-level home features separate wings for each of the three main bedrooms.

A detached 2,206-square-foot guesthouse comes with a bedroom and a bunk room. There’s also a quaint garden house with a bathroom and a sauna.

The home, which is known as Pynewoods Estate, is where Palm Desert meets the Pacific Northwest.

“I’ve been lucky enough to sell some of the really big homes here. This one blew my hair back. It’s crisp and clean in a way that we don’t see very often. A lot of the architectural design in North Idaho is heavy and dark with timbers and wood inside the home,” Rowley says. “I had heard about this one for a long time, and so I was really excited to get a chance to go see it and it exceeded anything that I thought I was going to be walking into.”

The sprawling home has spectacular indoor-outdoor flow thanks to its retractable, wall-size glass doors.

For recreation, there’s an infinity pool with fire features as well as a pickleball court.

It sits on a 6.77-acre hill in the estates area of the Black Rock development.

“The buyer is most likely somebody who’s going to be here for the summer months only, and likely a golf and boating enthusiast,” Rowley predicts. “It’s going to be someone who is ready to engage in what we consider the quintessential North Idaho lifestyle, which is ample recreational opportunities in every direction.”

The mansion isn’t on the water, but it comes with a boat slip on the nearby community dock.

“It’s just a short golf cart ride down through a meandering paved trail through some forest down to the waterfront,” he explains. From that dock, over a dozen restaurants and other amenities are accessible.

“Using a boat and a golf cart as your two sources of transportation makes life pretty sweet,” Rowley says. “You don’t have to get in a car.”

The sellers own the lot next door and are building a new house, Rowley says. “It’s going to be a little bit smaller, but they love the setting and the location so much that they’re literally moving 100 yards to the north.”

All the furnishings are included in the sale, he says. “Every single piece of furniture was handpicked. Every detail down to the knives and forks was carefully considered, and they fit the theme and the vibe so well. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a house where the entire property all the way down to the smallest detail was so carefully considered,” Rowley says. “That $30 million will buy you just about everything. You’re just going to need to bring a toothbrush and a change of clothes.”
