BRD wallet will stop peer to peer transactions – which other app to migrate to?

It seems that Coinbase is turning BRD into a centrally controlled app (or doing something to remove the user ownership/control) and I want to find another app.

My strong preferences are that my new app should be open source, non-centralized and easy to use. Long term longevity is also a plus.
Some time ago I was on the verge of migrating to a Nano Ledger S – but the company got a security breach and leaked user info. That event and the risk of the accompanying centrally made UI-program , stopped my trust in them and I don’t want a hardware storage.
