Bitcoin ‘may not last that much longer,’ academic warns

Oh dear, when I watch these videos now I just realise that people like this haven’t done their research properly.

– No other currency has ever just gone up and up – erm, scarcity. Stop printing money and you’ll stop seeing your USD going down 6-14% year on year.

– Environmentally destructive – tech is deflationary, so is BTC. In a world that doesn’t require consumerism to keep the economy going, then wasteful spending could reduce – we can reduce our carbon footprint. It can also use energy that would never be used for anything else (hydro in the back end of no where for instance). The current Fiat system is part of the cause of environmental damage.

Frustrates me so much. Do the research, understand your own Fiat system, understand how BTC is improving on that.

Having said that, the train will leave the station in the next decade and people like this will regret not having gone in deeper to truly understand BTC. It’s not an asset class that everyone just wants to pump, BTC is doing what it’s been programmed to do, it doesn’t care, and we’re just observers as it attracts more investors.
