Beverly Hills Mansion Full House

Given its size, it would be difficult to fill up the home built by the creator of “Full House,” Jeff Franklin.

The massive mansion on Cielo Drive in Beverly Hills, CA, recently landed on the market for $85 million.

Located behind two sets of gates in the coveted 90210 ZIP code, the home has already attracted an outsize amount of interest. Curious clickers propelled it into the top spot in our weekly look at the nation’s most popular homes.

Joshua and Matthew Altman of Douglas Elliman-Beverly Hills are the listing agents. Both star on the popular Bravo series “Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles.”

Built in 1996 and known as The Cielo Estate, the nine-bedroom home on 3.6 acres offers an Andalusian vibe.

Measuring 21,000 square feet, it’s equipped with all the high-end amenities and luxe details you’d expect with a nearly nine-digit price tag. There’s a movie theatre, spa, gym, hair salon, billiard-room, and bar.

Published reports say Franklin bought what was then an unfinished Mediterranean-style property in 2000 and finished it, finally moving into the home in 2007, after rounds of customizations to his tastes.

The finished product looks resortlike in the listing photos, thanks to huge rooms and retractable windows. A true blurring of the lines between the indoor and outdoor spaces adds to its appeal.

Because it sits high on a hill, the views are stupendous. The home is precisely oriented on the large lot to take advantage of both city and ocean views.

Fans of aquatic life will appreciate the room with a 20-foot aquarium, one of several in the home, as well as the koi pond outside.

The two-story grand staircase capped with a blue dome is a signature touch visible on the hillside.

Outside, the pool area makes a major statement, given its 75-yard pool with a 35-foot water slide, three waterfalls, a swim-up bar, and the lazy river.

For guests and auto aficionados, an underground parking garage has room for 16 cars, and parking space is available for up to 35 vehicles.

A large detached guesthouse on the property caters to the comfort of overnight guests.

In addition to creating “Full House,” Franklin, 67, worked as a writer and producer on “Laverne & Shirley,” “Bosom Buddies,” and “Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper.” He was fired from the Netflix spin-off series “Fuller House” in 2018, after complaints against him surfaced.

In 2016, he purchased the San Francisco home used in the show’s opening credit sequence for $4 million. After renovating the iconic home, he put it back on the market in 2019 for $6 million. The Victorian—which attracts droves of tourists to this day—wound up selling in 2020 for $5.35 million.

His 90210 mansion certainly is even more impressive, but the street and the land it’s on have an unfortunate history.

The home is on the parcel of land where the Manson Family murders took place in 1969, although the original home was torn down years ago and the address number changed to expunge the property’s infamous past.
