TL;DR Sending faxes and paying for them with Bitcoin is back, now available via the Lightning Network.

From 2015 till 2018 Bitcoin Fax was humming along happily. Pushing out a few thousand faxes during its humble life until an unrecoverable hardware failure in November 2018.

Now it’s 2021 and Bitcoin transaction fees are no longer reasonable for small transactions. After an embarrassingly long time, I retrofitted Bitcoin Fax to exclusively support accepting Bitcoin over the Lightning Network.

Thank you to the members of the community who reached out to say they missed the service. It gave me the kick I needed to bring it back to life. Cheers!
