NatWest is ready to formalize its blockchain strategy with the launch of a new digital team in its capital markets business. This new team will be led by Chris Agathangelou who was appointed as the head of digital capital markets.
This unit will be charged with delivering credit and rates products through digital channels and currencies that are powered and underpinned by blockchain technology. Natwest said in a statement:
“Distributed ledger technology will increase transparency, minimize costs, lead to faster execution, and increase capital efficiency for NatWest Markets’ clients.”
Chris Agathangelou joined NatWest in 2017 coming from Nomura. Being the head of flow credit syndicate, he was recently driving data visualization projects with external partners throughout the fintech community.
