It’s a great feeling each time, as I know I’m taking actual possession of my coins, and privately confirming the transactions via my own node, leading myself to be [self sovereign](https://ift.tt/rTNYHBnbitcoin-creates-sovereign-individuals).
[Setting up a node](https://howchoo.com/bitcoin/run-bitcoin-full-node-raspberry-pi), putting your Bitcoin into [cold storage with a hardware wallet](https://ift.tt/5pdAZDw) (or even using a [multi-signature set up](https://ift.tt/x0kRw8h), and [protecting your seeds](https://ift.tt/GUvyJcu), are all possible, *for everyone*, if you are willing to put in the time to do some research to educate yourself, and by asking for support (from various communities) if/when you need it.
Not your keys, not your coins. Make the effort to get your coins off of exchanges, as there are [many reasons](https://ift.tt/9oQsXYb) to do so.
