There are all kinds of exciting things taking place in the crypto space these days, and the latest events are related by CNBC. It seems that the Fed approves the rules that ban its officials from trading stocks, bonds, and cryptos.

A new article posted by CNBC just revealed that the Federal Reserve officials won’t be able to trade a slew of assets including stocks and bonds and digital assets as well under new rules that became formal Friday.

Most restrictions will take effect starting in May

It’s been also revealed that following up on regulations that have been announced in October, the policymaking Federal Open Market Committee announced that most of the restrictions would take effect starting May 1.

The same article mentioned above notes that the rules will cover FOMC members, regional bank presidents, and a raft of other officials, including staff officers, bond desk managers, and Fed employees who regularly attend board meetings.

It’s also worth highlighting that they also extend to spouses and minor children.

“The Federal Reserve expects that additional staff will become subject to all or parts of these rules after the completion of further review and analysis.”

This is what a release announcing the rules stated.

It’s also worth noting the fact that the statement also said the following:

The rules “aim to support public confidence in the impartiality and integrity of the Committee’s work by guarding against even the appearance of any conflict of interest.”

The SEC in the news
