As you might recall from our post earlier this week, this holiday season Polychain Monsters partnered up with Pencils of Promise in order to bring our community its first ever auction event; one that was specifically dedicated to helping those in need.

In case you’re just catching up, Pencils of Promise is a nonprofit organization whose focus revolves around helping to build schools and increase educational opportunities for children in developing countries.

Thus, the purpose of this auction and the beautiful, one-of-a kind Pencils of Promise Christmas Unibranch was to help raise funds for PoP’s organizational efforts, with all proceeds from the sale going directly to their cause. Both tofuNFT and Polychain Monsters also agreed to donate 100% of the royalties and fees generated from this auction directly to Pencils of Promise as well.

On December 13th we launched our first-ever auction event on tofuNFT. The bidding process ran until December 17th (1:00 PM UTC), at which point the highest bidder was awarded this spectacular one-off version of the Diamond Antler Unibranch to truly immortalize their collection for years to come.

Some of the stretch goals for the auction, as well as the positive impacts they would provide should the final price reach these amounts, were as follows:

• At 5 BNB: More than three water, sanitation, and hygiene workshops can be provided to help support over 20 teachers and nearly 700 students.
• At 10 BNB: Books can be supplied for one school to provide quality reading materials for nearly 300 students.
• At 17 BNB: Tablets can be bought for one school to provide students with access to hundreds of culturally relevant and age-appropriate e-books throughout each subsequent school year.
• At 25 BNB: Building of one high-quality and safe classroom where students can learn comfortably.

After setting the auction to start at 5 BNB, the bidding process commenced early, shooting up to 6 BNB after a back-and-forth between wallet 14eB and _I_Like_Monsters_ on the first day. Then, interested parties seemed to bide their time until only 14 hours remained in the auction, with Criptomemo raising the bid price to 6.4 BNB.

Another six hours passed, and on the eve of the close, a flurry of bids hit the market. The wallet dD32 raised the price to 7 BNB, and _I_Like_Monsters_ countered at 7.5 BNB, followed by 8bbd who offered 8 BNB.

SniiKzy really upped the stakes by jumping the bid to 11.11 BNB out of nowhere. Not one to go down without a fight, _I_Like_Monsters_ increased their submission to 11.666 BNB, only to be passed by SniiKzy again with a 15 BNB bid!

Then, at the last moment, 8bbd stepped out of the shadows once more with a final bid of 17 BNB, and earned himself this one-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own the unique Pencil’s of Promise Christmas Unibranch.
