The Sandbox is happy to announce its next slam-dunking game design contest — the SAND Play Game Jam.
This Game Jam is brought to you by a partnership between The Sandbox and Round21.
Round21 aims to elevate the sense, originality and creative expression that is found in every person, starting with what is most core to their identity — their sport. Learn more about Round21 by clicking here.
The SAND Play Game Jam
Using The Sandbox’s Game Maker software, you will need to create a sports-related experience, whether it is based on a real sport — modern or past — or something straight out of your creative imagination.
It is also up to you whether the player participates in the sport. For example, you could create a game where the player needs to compete against another team in a sport, a game where the player needs to help manage a sporting event, an educational diorama where the player can learn about a historic sport, and so on.
It is up to you — as long as it follows the sporty theme! Use your creativity to recreate or even reimagine sports in the metaverse. The ball is in your court.
The Prizes
The prize pool consists of a total of 50,000 SAND split the following ways.
- 1st place: 20,000 SAND.
- 2nd place: 10,000 SAND.
- 3rd place: 6,000 SAND.
- 4th to 10th place: 2,000 SAND each.
